PowerPoint to ChatGPT: turn slides and speaker notes into text

Convert .pptx decks into ordered slide text, with optional speaker notes and slide numbers, ready for ChatGPT review in minutes.

For consultants, marketers, and educators working from slide decks.

Workflow

  1. 1Upload the .pptx file. Slide text is extracted in your browser in slide order.
  2. 2Open Customize output and find the PowerPoint options. "Include slide text" and "Include speaker notes" are on by default.
  3. 3Turn on "Include slide numbers" when you want ChatGPT to cite specific slides in its answer.
  4. 4Process the deck, review the extracted text, then paste it into ChatGPT with your question.

Extraction tips

  • Speaker notes often carry the reasoning behind a slide. Keep them on when you ask for summaries or talk tracks.
  • Turn speaker notes off for a compact extract when you only need the visible slide text.
  • Pictures and chart graphics are not transcribed, so add key figures to your prompt manually when they matter.

Frequently asked questions

Does the converted output keep my slides in order?
Yes. Slides are extracted in deck order, and you can include slide numbers so ChatGPT can reference specific slides.
Are speaker notes included?
Yes, by default. The "Include speaker notes" checkbox in the PowerPoint options controls this, so you can exclude notes when you only want visible slide text.
Does my presentation get uploaded anywhere?
No. The deck is converted in your browser. Slide contents are not uploaded to Files2.AI servers during the standard conversion flow.
What happens to images and charts?
Text inside slides, tables, and notes is extracted. Pictures and chart graphics are not transcribed, so mention important visuals in your prompt if they matter to the question.
